Up to 2000 new jobs could be created by a business park and new four star hotel to be built next to Aberdeen Airport, the BBC reports. Plans for the £100 million 54-acre site - led by Ribnort and to called ABZ, the airport's code - have been released, with the developer's aim to have the business park's first units ready for occupation next summer.
George Stevenson, director of Ribnort, said: ‘Attracting new and retaining existing businesses is vital to the area's economy. The site, which comprises the land between Dyce Drive, Aberdeen Airport and Wellheads Drive, is in an ideal position, located adjacent to the A96 and the future Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. Building a four-star airport hotel will further boost the area's reputation as a tourism destination.’
Airport managing director Derek Provan added: ‘I am delighted that we have delivered a robust development plan for this site. The land is earmarked for business park development in the Council's local development plan. Detailed planning permission is being dealt with.'
