Plans for a hotel at Bournemouth Airport have been revealed. After the multi-million pound development of both terminals and other facilities over the last two years, with the departure and arrivals terminal rebuilt, as well as resurfacing the complete length of the runway, doubling of the size of the apron and installing new navigation and lighting aids.
Now Manchester Airports Group (MAG), who own the airport, hope to build a hotel at the airport over the next 12 months. A spokesman said the need for the first ‘on-site’ airport hotel has been brought on by the transformation the airport has undergone.
The spokesman said: ‘We are investigating whether a hotel development is viable and understand the requirement in terms of the number of bedrooms and level of service required in order to meet market demand and further enhance the airport facilities. Any hotel development would be within the boundaries of the existing airport site.’
