The quality of public transport links to and from Bristol Airport have been criticised in a new report. Campaign group Railfuture carried out research at UK airports to assess their rail, bus and coach links, and also the information provided to passengers on transport options.
The report identified a large variation in the quality of public transport links to UK airports, and said Bristol Airport is amongst the worst, scoring 8 out of a 30 points in the survey. It is behind Gatwick, Cardiff and even smaller airports such as Southend.
However, managers at Bristol Airport rejected the findings, saying they only score badly in the report because they do not have a train link, which is not a realistic option. They are focusing instead on increasing the frequency of a coach service that runs every 15 minutes from the airport into the city, making several stops on the way.
