Fifteen fire engines rushed to Bristol Airport yesterday after an plane with landing gear problems made an emergency landing. The incident came in the same week that another plane made an emergency landing at the hub.
The Manx2 flight from the Isle of Man to Gloucester was diverted to Bristol Airport after problems were reported with its landing gear. 15 fire crews from Brislington, Bedminster, Temple Back and Southmead were put on standby at the airport just after 15:30 yesterday.
However, the plane managed to land safely at 15:40. None of the 18 passengers on board the 19-seat Metroliner plane were injured. They were transferred to Gloucester by bus. The plane was thoroughly checked before going back into service.
