The Flybe HR Director, Simon Charles, said in an interview with Personnel Today that the regional budget airline was planning a recruitment drive to attract pilots and engineers at the regional airports it operates from.
Flybe is based in Exeter, and flies from UK airports including Southampton, Leeds, Liverpool and Bristol. Mr Charles said: ‘This process [recruiting key staff at regional airports] is not as easy as it sounds. Attracting talented individuals into the regions is not as simple as being based in Heathrow.'
‘We want to attract key people into the company, and signal a shift away from the current paper based recruitment model,’ adding that Flybe plans to launch an online recruitment website this summer.
