Passengers using the air link that connects Anglesey to Cardiff are up by 30%, the Daily Post reports. Manx2 took over the route last May and has reported passenger numbers for the last 3 months are up by 30% compared to last year.
A spokesman for the airline said: ‘We been providing the twice daily intra-Wales service since May 2010. Passengers have steadily increased, and in the last 3 months are up by 30%. More than 1000 passengers used the service in July. There have been no delays on the route with every flight arriving early or on time.’
‘Communities at both ends of the route have responded to this reliability, the time saving offered by the flights and the new leisure fares. The growth in passenger numbers illustrates how important the air service is to communities in the North and South, by maintaining connectivity and helping contribute to economic growth.’
The air link receives a £800,000 subsidy each year from the Welsh Government.
