James Wharton, MP for Stockton South, has called on Durham Tees Valley Airport to change its name back to Teesside Airport, the Evening Gazette reports. He made the call at a recent meeting with airport bosses, including the airport's director Mike Morton.
The airport’s fortunes have declined in recent years, however, it was recently taken over by Vancouver Airport Services. Mr Wharton called for a long term plan of investment and support, including a change in the name back to Teesside Airport. He believes most residents would support such a change.
