A mother who allegedly left her three children with a teenage babysitter while she went on holiday in Turkey has appeared in court. Kelly Ann Rogerson, also known as Piggford, faces three charges of causing unnecessary suffering to a child during her two-week stay in the resort of Marmaris in June.
Even when the papers found out about the case, Rogerson continued with her holiday. She gave several interviews during her holiday, but was arrested when she returned to Durham Tees Valley airport.
In court today, the 24-year-old spoke only to confirm her name, age and address during the four-minute hearing at Darlington Magistrates. No pleas were entered and the case was adjourned for one week.
Magistrates granted Rogerson unconditional bail and she will return to the same court on August 9.
