Flybe is to launch daily flights between Edinburgh and Kent International Airport (Manston). The new route will initially operate between May 27 and October 30.
It will be the first daily scheduled route from the Kent airport since EUjet collapsed in 2005. Airport owners Infratil said that the new flights would help it increase passenger numbers from 50,000 in 2010 to more than half a million by 2014. The 80-minute service will be operated using a 78- seated Bombardier Q-400 turboprop aircraft.
