Virgin use new tools to speed plane turnaround times

Virgin Atlantic will boost its on-time performance with new aircraft turn tools at UK airports, Travel Daily reports. Its paper-based systems will be replaced with Avtura’s hand-held PDA devices running its Real-time Aircraft Turnaround Tool (RATT).

Real-time information will be streamed through the devices, so the airline can prioritise activity with it operations centre during situations such as severe weather. The airline believes the new system will make a significant contribution to its punctuality drive.
