Just what we needed after a stressful wedding day, thanks (hotel stay date May 2008)
We stayed at the Hilton Gatwick on our wedding night. It was a beautiful room - very comfortable and luxurious. After a beautiful wedding day it was just what we needed. Clean, spacious, within easy reach of the airport and booking online couldn't have been easier. The price was excellent for the facilities and services provided. (Review by Sarah P)
The main things customers like about the Gatwick Hilton are: The hotel's main selling point is that it is extremely convenient for the south terminal. The off peak room rates are fantastic - rooms can be booked including 15 days airport parking and the whole package can be cheaper than just booking parking during quiet periods. The service at the hotel is good and the quality of the food and the service in the hotels restaurants and bars is excellent.
The main things customers don't like about the Gatwick Hilton are: First impressions at the gatwick Hilton can be poor, as the reception is at the side of the main lobby where smoking is permitted. There can be quite a queue to check in, and there is no parking at the hotel (you need to park and pay at an airport car park) which makes this first hurdle a bit of a hassle. The bars and restaurants at this hotel are very expensive - with some people preferring to walk to the airport food court and eat instead. Some reviewers have described the rooms as 'small' / 'compact' and 'ordinary', but overall the ratings for the rooms are high.
Overall the Gatwick Hilton Hotel consistently achieves very high satisfaction ratings. It does get some very poor reviews, as do all hotels, but overall it gets 'very good' and 'excellent' for most categories.
