TAP Portugal customers travelling from Gatwick Airport are able to carry two bags through security for cabin baggage with immediate effect. The news comes after the government restriction limiting customers to one item of cabin baggage was lifted at Gatwick last week.
TAP now allows its passengers flying from the airport to carry up to two items of hand baggage each. Restrictions relating to the size of each item (maximum 56cm tall, 45cm wide and 25cm deep) also apply, as do the previously enforced rules on carrying liquids through security.
Other airlines operating at Gatwick have not relaxed their one bag restriction, including easyJet and a number of charter airlines. Passengers are advised to check the rules with their airline before setting off for the airport.
