Plans for a train station at Glasgow Airport are to be given the green light today, the Evening Times reports. Two platforms will be created near the main terminal ahead of the £210m rail link. Four trains an hour will run between the airport and Glasgow Central once the link is completed in 2011.
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport is seeking prior approval for the station to ensure the project will be completed on time. Renfrewshire planners have backed the plans, saying they believe the station will create a ‘sense of arrival’for passengers. The platforms will be sited around 30ft off the ground and will be linked to a walkway leading to the main terminal.
