BA will win in its bitter dispute with cabin crew, ABTN reports travel agency Advantage have said. It adds that a strike threatened this week over the Christmas period will have little impact on the vital business travel sector, and only increase the public's disgust over the union's militant stance and their lack of realism in the current economic climate.
As Unite and BA prepare for a new round of talks on Monday in a dispute that has lasted more than a year, ABTN reports the feeling among the travel community is 'remarkably stolid'. Ken McLeod, director at Advantage, said: ‘It's becoming boring now. I think Unite is losing support.'
'The longer the dispute carries on, the less power Unite has. BA has got its act together. It has been good at announcing schedules and keeping them running where it can. Its announcement that it will run 100% of long haul flights if there is another strike has added to the feeling that the union has picked a fight it cannot win.'
