BA could lose £15m a day during BAA strike

Strikes at BAA's UK airports could cost British Airways £15m a day, an industry expert told the Express. A strike at the airports would be a further blow for airlines struggling from the effects of the recession and hit hard by the volcanic ash crisis earlier this year.

BGC strategist Howard Wheeldon told the newspaper that while the impact of a strike would not be as severe as the dust cloud, which cost the airline £20m a day, the closure of BAA’s UK airports could still cost BA £15m a day.
