Passengers passing through Heathrow this week are enjoying a preview of Notting Hill Carniva, with steel bands and performers entertaining passengers and staff in T5's international arrivals area. In addition to a preview of the famous event, passengers can also visit an exhibition by Carl Gabriel, showcasing the celebrated carnival artist's work.
Launched in 1964 Notting Hill Carnival continues to lure people from all over the world to enjoy the sounds of Caribbean music. More than a million people will attend this year’s event, with over 50,000 dancers and singers performing. A Heathrow spokesman said the airport's aim was to provide passengers with an ‘immediate sense’ that they have arrived in London.
