As Heathrow recorded its busiest ever month in July, volume swelled dramatically at local hotels, in part due to demand from the Farnborough Air Show as well as an increase in the proportion of room nights booked for the corporate and conference sectors.
As a result room occupancy at Heathrow Airport hotels increased by 8.8 percentage points in July to an impressive 91.2% at an achieved average room rate of £73.24 - a 6.7% increase on last year, according to the latest HotStats survey. The result was an 18.1% increase in revenue per available room (also known as revPAR).
