Best of 3 hotels I have stayed at in Heathrow (hotel stay date April 2008)
I stayed at the Thistle Hotel Gatwick for a long weekend in March / April 2003 and again in 2004. On both occasions it was for a convention, and for me price and location is more important than high quality. I found the booking staff helpful and service from staff in the dining room was very good. The rooms are comfortable and well serviced. Useful amenities including a kettle and packets of tea and coffee are included. I thought the plastic ducks in the bathroom were a nice touch! The breakfast is self-service and is a good selection, of acceptable standard. I would certainly suggest the Heathrow Thistle Hotel to anyone who regards a 3-star hotel as good enough.
