BA's February passenger traffic, measured by Revenue Passenger Kilometres, rose by 1.1% compared to a year earlier. Its passenger capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometres, was down 1.9%. These two combined resulted in passenger load factor increasing by 2.2 percentage points to 74.2%.
The traffic figures included a 5.0% increase in the very important premium traffic - business and first class passengers - and a 0.3% increase in non-premium traffic. However, BA said that last year's February traffic data was significantly affected by weather disruption in the first week of the month.
Cargo, measured in Cargo Tonne Kilometres, was up by by 9.2%.
