BA may expand its all-business-class flight routes to the US from London City Airport, Bloomberg reports. Its Chief Executive Officer Willie Walsh said destinations being considered including Boston and Washington, with the airline regularly filling 75% of the seats on flights between City and New York.
Mr Walsh said: ‘London City - New York is performing really well and bookings are very encouraging. We are considering more East Coast routes from London City, but we need to be able to look at at least 4 months of profitable operations before reaching a decision.’
The news comes as OpenSkies, BA's European all-business class subsidiary, announced it will launch a new route between Washington and Paris on May 3. The airline also currently has a single route - between Paris and New York - with 17 flights per week.
