Virgin Atlantic is recruiting 300 new staff as its business begins to take off again following the worst of the recession, the Mirror reports. The long haul airline is to hire 150 staff for its Swansea call centre and 150 extra cabin crew for its new flights between Manchester Airport and Las Vegas, plus extra flights from the airport to Chicago.
The recruitment follows a 10% increase in revenue during the 3 months to the end of May. Virgin lost £132m in the year to the end of February 2010, but has seen an improvement in income and passengers in the period since, with passengers in its Upper Class (business / first) up 15%.
