Probe in to boy in cockpit claims

07.05.08

An Air France plane flying from Manchester Airport to Paris last weekend was forced to climb 10,000ft to avoid another jet because the pilot was showing off to a boy in the cockpit, passengers told the Manchester Evening News.

The newspaper reports that pilot of the Air France flight to Paris on Saturday suddenly pitched left at 33,000ft and the crew allegedly announced the jet, with 143 passengers on board, had got `too close' to another plane.

The airline has launched an investigation after passengers at the front of the aircraft told them that they saw one of the cabin crew take a French boy, aged about 13, into the cockpit. Taking passengers into the cockpit is contrary to rules brought in after the September 11 terror attacks.
