Etihad will increase capacity by close to 60% on its flights between Manchester Airport and Abu Dhabi from June. The airline is upgrading from its current A330-200 aircraft to a Boeing 777-300 on the route. The capacity increase will mean an additional 2100 seats each week.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad’s chief commercial officer, said: ‘Our services to Manchester have been performing very strongly, with load factors of close to 80% in 2009. The introduction of a Boeing 777 furthers our commitment to this important route.'
Etihad operates 7 return services per week between Manchester and Abu Dhabi, with onward connections to its global network. This includes flights popular destinations such as Sydney, Melbourne, Bangkok, Cape Town and Islamabad.
