None, but the Stansted Bushel and Sack Hotel
fell out May

No big changes at Stansted this month, as the pattern for the summer appears to be set in stone. Having said that, the Stansted Hilton took the top spot back from the Express Holiday Inn. The Hilton had been top every month until June, when the Express topped the list for the first time ever (well, it only opened in late January this year, so it would be the first time ever), having slowly climbed up the charts. The Express dropped to 4th in July as its cheapest rooms had gone (months ago), making the rooms it did have expensive.

The Stansted Radisson SAS Hotel continues to do well. Both APH and Holiday Extras now have the it on a 'hotel with parking' package, with the hotel now taking control of where you park. Because of the facilities this hotel has, and the price you book its rooms for (from £89 for a double room), if you don't need parking, it's our top pick. The Hilton and Express tend to be cheaper for 'with airport parking' packages, and for families though.

The De Salis, which is only a couple of miles up the road from the terminal, and is the closest of the 'off airport' hotels, did well in July too. It is now offering family 5 rooms - on the dates we booked them they were £135 including 15 days airport parking, which is good when you consider that 15 days parking costs over £100.

The Yew Tree Inn continued its climb - up 2 places in June and July - Down Hall regained the 3 places it dropped in June, and the Saracens Head lost the place it gained in June.

Looking at the year to date, the top 4 read: Hilton, Express, Radisson and De Salis, but the Days Inn took 5th spot from Yew Tree. As you might expect the top 3 - the on airport hotels - have a big lead over the rest of the field and, because they have more rooms than the others, this grows each month.
